At the end of the second mission of the Windblume’s Breath event, “A Riddle Amidst the Crowds”, the Traveler and Paimon encounter a mysterious figure named Scarlett. This event-exclusive NPC approaches you after your meal in Good Hunter and expresses that he also shares an interest in the enigmatic prophecy of the festival. The second and final time Scarlett appears is on the floating island in “Joy Above the Clouds”, during which she reveals her true identity as it relates to Mondstadt’s secret society of witches called Hexenzirkel.

Explaining Scarlett’s Identity In Genshin Impact Windblume’s Blast

While your fellow Genshin Impact examine the Lantern of Ultimate Joy in Windblume’s Breath, Scarlett will sneak onto the floating island, spooking everyone. However, she has no bad intentions against anyone, but wants to announce that it was she who slipped the “prophecy” into the book that discovered sucrose. Before activating the flashlight to communicate with Klee’s mother, Alice, Scarlett declares that she is “J’s successor”. While Alice explains the story behind J’s narrative in the mission art scene, some players may not know who J is and how she is related to Scarlett.
First, J’s full name is I. Ivanovna N. and he was a member of Hexenzirkel. As Scarlett mentioned, Hexenzirkel is an “ancient coven of powerful women”, like Alice’s or Mona’s teacher, who used initials as names to identify themselves. For those familiar with The Witcher series, they might compare Hexenzirkel to The Lodge of Sorceresses. Sadly, I. Ivanovna N. has since passed away, but her legacy has passed on to several successors, Scarlett being the most recent.
Additionally, the Windblume Festival “prophecy” in Genshin Impact was actually an encrypted message used to bring any member of the Hexenzirkel back to the lantern in order to reopen communications. Scarlett likely saw the festival as an opportune time to receive help with this “prophecy” and therefore entered the history of the event with the Traveler and his companions.
