Frontier Developments’ RTS in collaboration with Games Workshop is going to be delayed.
Announced two years ago by the British studio Frontier Developments, Warhammer Age of Sigmar is still not ready and the wait will still be long for the fans: “Our real-time strategy game available on consoles and PC, which was scheduled for release in calendar year 2023, will now be released later in that same calendar year, in fiscal year 24. This change will allow to improve the quality and longevity of the game, and to increase its success.”
Lower revenues for Frontier Developments
Following the sluggish launch of Jurassic World Evolution 2 (sales were lower than expected on PC, while console sales were largely in line with expectations) which resulted in a net loss of $2.3 million (compared to a net profit of $7.9 million in the same half of the previous year), Frontier Developments lowered its targets. The goal is now to achieve revenues of between $136.7 million and $177.7 million for the next twelve months by taking advantage of medium and long-term sales of various licenses such as Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo , Elite Dangerous: Odyssey and potentially the adaptation of Formula One into a management simulation.
