With the development of artificial intelligence, many have started to wonder if the technology could cause people involved in, among other things, game development to lose their jobs.
You can read some examples of comments posted on Ubisoft’s YouTube share below.
“It will definitely save writers the time most of them will need to find other jobs. Ubisoft really cares.
“What a great way to make game worlds even more robotic and soulless,” notes Boo.
“Imagine a public announcement that your studio got lazy and just fired 75% of its writing staff,” writes Sourcery Wizard.
“Ubisoft’s unbroken string of bad decisions is impressive right now,” says Joshua Gonzalez.
It’s hard to disagree with the last comment. In recent months, almost all actions taken by Ubisoft seem to be criticized by public opinion. Is it good? This is a question you will have to answer for yourself.
However, a human will still need to keep an eye on the aforementioned program and the meaning of the dialogues it generates (as can be seen in the video above), so the time-saver the developers are boasting about is not not so obvious.
