Among the franchises that Ubisoft has launched in recent generations, one of the most successful is that of The division, which originally arrived in 2016 to very positive reception. The sequel, The Division 2, was also a hit for Ubisoft, but it appears the company isn’t developing The Division 3 and doesn’t currently have any plans.
The Division 2 arrived in 2019 and since then it has been well received by gamers as it has already sold over 10 million units and is currently in its tenth season. In The Division Season 10, the mission is to stop General Peter Anderson from making a deal with Black Tusk, which would lead to the end of The Division.
According to Insider Gaming sources supposedly close to the company, Ubisoft isn’t developing a new main game in the franchise, so there’s no point in waiting for news. The Division 3 Soon. Still, the report says no major installment is on the way, so Ubisoft might be working on a The Division spin-off.
A rumor has been circulating for some time that Ubisoft would be working on a battle royale for The Division and it was recently confirmed, since The Division: Heartland can already be found in the Ubisoft Store despite the absence of an official announcement. Additionally, the series will reach mobile devices through The Division: Resurgence, which doesn’t yet have a release date but we can sign up for its closed beta.
Exactly a month ago we saw The Division 2 arrive on the Steam store and it did so with great discounts, so hopefully that’s a sign that Ubisoft is preparing an announcement for the weeks upcoming, which will most likely be battle royale The Division: Heartland.
