There are certain characters that you will consider great damage dealers and honestly quite essential in octopathic traveler 2, and Hikari is one of them. Oh my god, Hikari is fun. Hikari is very similar to Ochette, in that keeping them close and having them face many enemies makes them stronger. For Hikari, that means using Challenge to fight NPCs during the day to learn their skills, which you can then use as skills learned in battle. You can make Hikari not only an amazing attacker, but also a mage by doing this! It’s fantastic. He is fine. Hikari is worth consuming as often as possible.
However, that means making sure he’s strong enough to survive those NPC fights and take him to every town. However, it is worth it.
It’s also great to have Hikari at night. This is due to his ability to bribe. If you need information, but Castti’s level is too low to ask, Osvald’s exam has a low pass rate and Temenos cannot attack NPC weaknesses for information with Coerce then the bribe with Hikari.
