Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, work on the Metro Exodus sequel is said to be at a fairly advanced stage. Sources claim that the new game is fully playable and its official announcement is only a matter of time.
As reported by Insider Gaming sources, the next installment ofMetro from the Ukrainian studio 4A Games is in an advanced stage of developmentas evidenced by the fact that The game would now be fully playable.. This, in turn, as journalist Tom Henderson rightly points out, raises hopes that the project will see an official announcement later this year, with a tentative release date set for 2024.
Unfortunately, this is not confirmed information from the developer, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. While waiting for a potential announcement from 4A Games, it’s worth keeping an eye on the studio’s official website (link below) and social media (eg. Blood).
Recall that work on the next installment of the popular series was first mentioned right after the release of Metro Exodus in 2019. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic and later Russian aggression in Ukraine caused a slowdown significant work on the game. Fortunately, despite the difficulties, the developers of 4A Games did not abandon the project, as they recently reported on their website. Instead, they modified and slightly adjusted it to current realities in their home country.
