The “Innovative Exploration and Survival Experience” known as the long black it will leave Xbox Game Pass in April 2023, but before that it just got a new update that improves frame rates on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Interestingly, this doesn’t appear to have been made public at all. In fact, there’s been a lot of confusion about whether or not the FPS has increased, but thanks to Fuzion Xbox Testing, we know it has.

You can check out the new Xbox Series X footage below, which appears to run at native 4K resolution, but sometimes suffers from frames in the 50-55 range. The Xbox Series S version, meanwhile, potentially runs below 1080p in terms of resolution, but seems to stay at a steady 60FPS for the most part.

So it might be worth returning to The Long Dark before it leaves Xbox Game Pass in a few weeks, and if you’re in reality Taking advantage of this, you can check out the DLC known as “Tales from the Far Territory”, a new expansion pass that will span the next 12 months. Just keep in mind that after The Long Dark is removed from Game Pass, you’ll also need to own the base game to access any additional DLC.
