GameStop has unveiled its pre-order bonus for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and fans are sorely disappointed.
Earlier this week, GameStop – opens in a new tab – released the full Tears of the Kingdom roster. In the process, the retailer revealed that pre-order purchases will get you an “exclusive wooden plaque” adorned with a Sheikah-like symbol, and in the Reddit post below, those hoping for the new game aren’t impressed. .
“Oh yeah, I love my zelda cutting board,” one Reddit user replied to the post. “Okay, I can’t be the only one slightly disappointed with all the pre-order/exclusive specials, can I? another user wrote “I mean I guess it doesn’t help that we still have no idea what the pictures actually mean on the stuff lol.”
Others around the world are showing what their local retailers are offering as pre-order bonuses to compare. ” Father ? Here in Spain we have this piece,” one person wrote, holding up a Sheikah-inspired piece that certainly looks cool. In France, pre-order customers receive the piece, stickers, a 48-page excerpt from Hyrule Historia, and €10 off a future purchase.
This is a great pre-order incentive for French customers. You have to admit that GameStop’s offer is a little underwhelming, especially compared to what others are getting, and players are now insisting that the bonus from the North American retailer is definitely lacking.
Considering those in North America will pay $70 for Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll definitely want a decent pre-order incentive attached. However, if you’re looking to drop even more, there’s the stylish Collector’s Edition, which costs $130 and includes the game, steel case, poster, art book, and pin set.
