Specialists, get ready to dive into the fourth season of Battlefield 2042: Last hour!
The new Season 4 map, Trigger, presents players with a unique set of challenges, taking the fight to the rocky landscapes of South Africa. Vehicles can take cover outside, while players are locked in melee combat in the map’s vast interior spaces, including a tunnel where players are forced to take up arms in combat face to face. .
The new specialist Battlefield 2042 are Camille “Blasco”, Specializing in ambushes, she leverages her reconnaissance training and custom tactical gear to move around the terrain without alerting any movement-based technology. Her infiltration device X6 prevents location of hostile devices, interferes with active detection technology, and creates dead zones, locating and revealing enemy technology within range until destroyed or disabled.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the additional content included in the fourth season:
- New Super 500 shotgun: Compact, attacking, short-range shotgun that can also be adapted for melee combat.
- New RM68 rifle: a customizable assault rifle with an integrated silencer, which also features a counterweight to improve stability and recoil control.
- New AC9 submachine gun: a lightweight submachine gun with improved ergonomics to maximize your control in fast-paced combat.
- New RPT-31 light machine gun: A light machine gun with a low rate of fire, the weapon features high impact capability, very fast projectile velocity, and a unique “interchangeable scope” attachment.
- New explosive device grenade launcher SPH: fires explosives capable of sticking to other players, objects, and vehicles, making it a perfect weapon of destruction against infantry.
- New CAV-Brawler vehicle: This manoeuvrable IFV-type vehicle traverses small spaces and protects soldiers. In addition to its active threat detection and melee defense system that launches grenades in all directions, this vehicle also serves as a team builder, allowing allies to spawn alongside the vehicle, even when full.
These contents will be available to all players as part of the Battle Pass free tier of Battlefield 2042**. and additional cosmetic items will be available through the Premium version of the Battle Pass***.
Season 4 brings back the famous class system Battlefield, where specialists are divided into the four classic categories: Assault, Engineers, Recon and Support. This new class system also redefines the equipment Specialists will have access to, creating a more structured and understandable role for players.
Later this season, the next map in the revamped experience series is Outcast, featuring improved lines of sight and visibility, a variety of cover to improve infantry combat, better checkpoints, all-new areas on the map and much more.
