A week ago we learned that Super Mario Bros.: The Movie had the best opening ever for an animated film (beating the previously unbeatable Frozen 2), and now it can boast a top another more special list.
Universal images announced that the Super Mario Bros. was already raised over $508.7 million In the whole world. That already makes it the highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time (that’s a lot of people singing ‘Peaches’), by far, as Detective Pikachu hit 434 million and Warcraft now has to make do with the second place because of this “only” raised 439 million in total. With the facts in hand, it seems likely that Illumination will have another billion dollar movie under its belt very soon.
