While working on the In The Shadow of Time quest at Hogwarts Legacy, you will need to choose whether to side with Sebastian or Ominis. Although Sebastian has good intentions, he tries to use a dark relic to heal his sister, and Ominis wants him to stop walking that path and follow you here. You can choose to help Sebastian or you can choose to help Ominis. Should you side with Sebastian or Ominis during In The Shadow of Time at Hogwarts Legacy?
What happens when you side with Sebastian?
This is the fastest route you can take in this quest. When talking to Ominis, you can choose to immediately say that you agree with Sebastian and cannot side with Ominis. By doing so, Ominis will say that he has already made up his mind and is willing to sacrifice his friendship for it. Your character will then suggest using the Imperium curse on themselves, and you can choose not to use that idea, or you can say that’s exactly what you want to do.

If you choose to go anyway, Ominis agrees to let you and Sebastian go as long as he no longer pursues the dark arts. However, if you choose to continue suggesting the Imperium curse, your character takes full responsibility for helping the situation. Ominis disagrees with this and thinks it’s crazy. However, he accepts and your character learns the Imperio curse, saving Ominis’ friendship with Sebastian.
What happens when you side with Ominis?
The other option is for you to side with Ominis, accepting that Sebastian has gone too far with the forces of evil and wants to leave with the relic. However, your character thinks Sebastian won’t be able to leave without the relic. Ominis agrees and Sebastian is only allowed to leave as long as he cannot pursue other dark avenues.
Siding with Ominis is similar to one of the other choices you can make when trying to side with Sebastian. All of these options cause your character and Sebastian to walk away with the relic, but whichever you choose to use the Imperio Curse on Ominis teaches the spell to your character if you haven’t already learned it.
