Very slowly, the world of Mirandus begins to take shape. The Mirandus team conducted an initial technical test for their Tavern games at the end of 2022 and are now ready to offer a more comprehensive playtest to players in early March 2023.

This Mirandus gameplay test is for Tavern Games, a set of in-game mini-games to entertain players. For this test we have Three-Eyed Snake, a dice roll and bet game.

This playtest is open to anyone with a Gala Games account, which can be created for free and has no KYC requirements.

Players need copper coins to play Three-Eyed Snake, so each player will receive 30 copper coins every six hours. Players should also receive bonuses to their base copper coin income based on the NFT and MTRM holdings in their wallet. At the end of the trial play, the top 10 players who have accumulated the most copper coins will be able to claim a First Edition Tavern Tankard!

The Playtest begins March 2 at 10 a.m. PT and lasts for a week until March 9 at 10 p.m. PT.

As part of the technology updates for this test, the dice roll actually uses Unity’s physics engine instead of a static animation. Very cool!

When the game launches, players will be able to play these tavern games at their local establishment and interact with other players whose characters are in the same tavern!

In addition to this Tavern Games test, a larger Mirandus gaming test is also expected to arrive soon, possibly later in March or April.

What is Watch?

In development since 2020, Mirandus is a fantasy MMO from Gala Games. Built with Unity, Mirandus is a fantasy first-person open-world MMO where players own everything. From the clothes they carry to the shops in the villages, even the villages themselves! Mirandus features a complex, interconnected economy in which players take on the roles of blacksmiths, hunters, and innkeepers, as well as adventurers.

Adventurers will need food, armor repair, and some potions before embarking on their next adventure. The blacksmith needs the lumberjack’s wood, while the butcher needs the farmer’s meat. There are many production chains, and players can enjoy being a farmer, adventurer, trader, or even a bard!

Players with land choose where to place it on the map. Near a dungeon for more foot traffic? Or near a river for agriculture and trade? Or maybe on a mountain pass to collect taxes from everyone who wants to pass! When the game launches, there will be five citadels, the largest cities in the game world. These give the owner the right to create and run their own faction, tax trade, and more.
