Since its release, Resident Evil 4 Remake has consumed many happy and awful hours of player time (myself included), both on PC and on the Steam Deck. However, it seems Capcom’s reimagining of the classic has struck a chord in the Steam Deck community, becoming one of the most popular games for the device.
According ValveResident Evil 4 Remake was the 20th most played game on the Steam Deck in March 2023. That feat is amazing on its own, but it’s even more impressive that it secured its coveted spot in just one week, after its release date. of November. 24. March. .
It joins many of the top Steam Deck games that the community has loved for months, including Elden Ring, Vampire Survivors, and Capcom’s favorite Monster Hunter Rise. Meanwhile, other newcomers include Dead Cells and Octopath Traveler 2, the latter of which managed to topple last month’s Red Dead Redemption 2.
While I’m glad to see some love for Resident Evil 4 Remake on the Steam Deck, its performance leaves me wanting. As such, I’m excited to see how Steam Deck 2 and, perhaps more immediately, Asus ROG Ally handle the RE engine.
