Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition GameStop is canceling pre-orders, according to various reports. There seems to be some confusion over canceled pre-orders, with some players saying the issue could only affect in-store orders.
GameStop apparently won’t have the Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition in stores
First reported by Twitter user Wario64, GameStop has apparently issued an internal memo to employees, asking them to cancel all in-store pre-orders for Collector’s Editions as no inventory will be arriving at retail stores. The memo doesn’t mention anything about ordering online, leaving players in the dark as to the fate of their pre-orders.
If you pre-ordered Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition IN THE STORE at GameStop, they just posted a note that the CE will not be hitting stores and will not be completed/arriving.
It doesn’t mention anything about online ordering, so I guess online ordering is unaffected. pic.twitter.com/KUMg4pVdh7

Wario64 says the memo asks employees to let customers know they can pre-order something else, get store credit instead, or get a full refund.
According to the Twitter user RuleTimeSpace, GameStop told one of its sources that online orders should be safe. However, stock may be limited.
We will let our readers know if Capcom and/or GameStop resolves the situation.
