There are plenty of new Skyrim mods to help fantasy fans pass the time until Bethesda’s next games arrive, but waiting for the Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 release date just got easier thanks to a crossover of mods which features two previous entries in the series. Both Morrowind and Oblivion deserve their place among the greatest RPGs of all time, and a new Elder Scrolls mod ties them together in a dramatic way.

The Nickies Cross-Game Invader addon is a mod designed to allow players to transfer their items, spells, and player data between Oblivion and Morrowind, and vice versa. This means you can use the same character in both games, have your protagonist or an NPC act as a follower, or even battle your created character from game to game.

On top of that, mod creator Nickies has created a special new encounter set that features a unique boss between games called “the Tonal Invader”. This enemy will appear during a new Morrowind quest, started on the shores of Solstheim, to flee after defeating him in battle. Then you’ll need to hunt him down to Cyrodiil in Oblivion to finish him off.

Nickies explains that the boss features unique systems for each game: while fighting the Tonal Invader in Morrowind, you’ll have to deal with that game’s stat checks, while combat in Oblivion adds the timed stops from the last game to the encounter. . Nickies adds that “both segments are full of depth and easter eggs,” encouraging players to dig deep to find out what’s at stake.

Defeating the Tonal Invader allows you to keep your spells, items, and other characters between games, though Nickies notes that you can choose to skip this requirement if you just want to play Oblivion’s Reflect Damage effect in Morrowind, or bring your favorite. Morrowind Charms to Oblivion.

Full instructions and details can be found on the Cross-Game Invader download page (via PC Gamer), which you’ll want to pay close attention to as the process is reasonably complicated. However, it’s such a cool concept that we think it’s worth it.

Hopefully, we’ll hear more news about Starfield’s release date in the next Starfield Showcase, but in the meantime, check out more of the best games like Skyrim to satisfy that itch that only the best open-world games can truly scratch. .
