Apple devices have finally received support for the recently released PS5 controller DualSense boards. The “pro” controller was released in January, but it wasn’t supported on iOS until two days ago.

How to Pair and Connect Your PS5 Controller with Apple Devices

As spotted by MacRumors and later confirmed by Apple, those running the new iOS 16.4 can now pair their controller. iOS 16.4, iPadOS 16.4, macOS Ventura 13.3, and tvOS 16.4 were released on March 27.

Follow these steps outlined by Apple to pair your controller:

  1. Make sure your controller is turned off.
  2. Press and hold the PS button and the Create (or Share) button at the same time until the light bar begins to flash. The controller is now in pairing mode, making it discoverable by your Apple device.
  3. Open Bluetooth settings on your Apple device, then select the controller from the list of nearby devices.
    • iPhone, iPad: connect Bluetooth devices
    • Apple TV: connect Bluetooth devices
    • Mac: Connect Bluetooth devices
  4. If the controller pairs but does not connect, press the PS button on the controller.

Apple now supports three PlayStation controllers: the DualShock 4, the standard DualSense, and the DualSense Edge.

As a reminder, players can now update DualSense, DualSense Edge and PSVR 2 Sense controllers wirelessly.
