Two weeks after Microsoft announced its intention to acquire Activision Blizzard, Sony revealed that it was going to buy developers Halo and Destiny Bungie, but the two companies have been much more cautious about major purchases since. Until now.
Sony has confirmed the acquisition of Firewalk Studios. Not exactly terribly surprising, as the two were already working together on an upcoming multiplayer game and Sony followed suit before Jade Raymond’s Haven joined PlayStation Studios.
Maybe not the kind of major acquisition most had in mind, but it makes former Destiny, Titanfall, and Call of Duty devs in Firewalk sound like something really exciting when Sony decided to close the deal.
