PC version of The Last of Us messing up Joel with low settings

The last of us The PC version is now available, giving more players the chance to experience Joel and Ellie’s first adventure. Thanks to the options available in the graphics menu of the game, it is possible to reduce the visual quality to increase performance on less powerful hardware such as the Valve Steam Deck. Low settings have a particularly negative impact on Joel, who becomes almost unrecognizable.

The Last of Us PC Joel no se ve tan bien

A low res image of Joel was shared by @Levit0 on Twitter with the caption “Joel Last of Us on Steam Deck SEND ME.”

Again, it’s worth noting that this is apparently what Joel looks like with the game running on Steam Deck hardware, a portable system with relatively limited power. This is the case with many games when their settings are set to the lowest available options. Gamers should expect the game to be much better on more powerful hardware.

An ugly Joel isn’t the only problem with the PC port, as players are said to be affected by crashing issues that likely inspire the “Mostly Negative” rating on Steam.

For those looking to run the PC version at 4K 60 FPS on max settings, a £1,199 graphics card is required.
