Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl celebrates its 20th anniversary this year (we’ve just grown two new gray hairs as I write this), which means it’s been two decades since we met Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner. The future of the franchise is unclear after the recent uproar over Johnny Depp, but there have been official talks of continuing with a spin-off.
But if there’s anyone who would love to return to Pirates of the Caribbean if more roles were created, it’s Orlando Bloomwho played a pirate “apprentice” Will Turner. In an interview with Parade, he explains:
“Oh my God, you know, I have to go back and play Legolas in The Hobbit, which was 10 years later. I was like, ‘This is so much fun! Because this is such a great space to be, and I think Will – I mean, Will is so tall In a way, I wouldn’t mind seeing what Will looks like now, because he was a very serious guy, but after being at the bottom of the ocean for so long, it would be interesting to see how it surfaces and what it looks like.”
What do you think of the news? Should there be more Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and if there is another, do you hope Will Turner returns as well?
