A new adventure game Nuclear Tales is under development. After the success of Randal’s Monday nine years ago, the Alicante studio began work on a prequel called Randal’s Tuesday to celebrate its tenth anniversary. The game is estimated to be released in 2024.
Randal’s Monday is a point-and-click dark comedy adventure filled with pop references from the past 30 years. This one stars Randal, a kleptomaniac, sociopath, and horrible friend. After his friend Matt’s engagement party, Randal decides to sell his friend’s ring and is cursed. Matt ends up killing himself and Randal is doomed to live the same Monday over and over again, to make up for the mistake he made. (link https://www.gamereactor.es/randals-monday-impresiones/)
This time the Alicante studio Nuclear Tales wished to become independent of its former distributor, Daedalic Entertainment, and in collaboration with Nexus Game Studios, they have decided to launch a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter so that everyone can be part of this new project. The campaign will be available in advance in April.
This prequel will revolve around Randal’s college life. You will be able to control three different characters, each with their own setting, items and abilities. To progress, the player must call on these three characters and solve various new situations and puzzles. The studio has confirmed that it is working on a demo with three different endings available at the start of the Kickstarter campaign. He also released a trailer showcasing this new story.
This prequel won’t be another DLC for the first game, but rather an all-new title, as the studio assured, “We want a head-to-toe new game, with no recycled elements or mechanics from the previous one. We want to take the Randal universe to the next level, especially in terms of graphics and sound.”
