Considering the Nintendo Switch continues to sell like hotcakes every year, it’s no surprise the Japanese games company isn’t rushing a successor console. Speaking on this subject in an interview with AP News, the President of Nintendo of America, Doug Bowserdeclared:
“As we enter the seventh year of Nintendo Switch, sales are still strong. I think we still have a very, very strong lineup ahead of us. As Mr. Furukawa (Shuntaro Furukawa, President of Nintendo ), we’re entering uncharted territory with the platform. It’s exciting to see that the demand is still there. So there’s nothing to announce regarding future consoles or devices, but we remain very optimistic about the Nintendo Switch. .
Continuing on the theme, Bowser gave an idea of the expectations they have with Nintendo Switch for the next few years.
“We’re very confident that the Switch can perform very well in the years to come, and still be that one-of-a-kind device that can be played both at home and on the go.”
So, as expected, don’t expect (official news) a successor to Switch, although a more powerful version would be nice.
