The Witcher 3 community is rallying around the continent’s birdlife, and CD Projekt is getting in on the joke.
Earlier this week, a post on the Witcher subreddit took advantage of the photo mode from last year’s next-gen build to take a closer look at the bird clothing in Novigrad. In keeping with the tradition of using as few resources as possible to represent the birds you see passing by in open-world games, the pigeon in question is gloriously poly; his beautifully angular body, his features flattened awkwardly on the odd stump of his neck.

While one commenter pointed out (opens in a new tab) that you can actually download a mod to bring HD Birds into the world of The Witcher, the rest of the community flocked (sorry) to the low-poly dove , catching the attention of the official Witcher game Twitter account. A new post superimposes the face of a low-poly dove over Geralt’s iconic Witcher 3 wolf medallion, creating a new Witcher school.

Of course, this is not the first time this has happened in recent months. The Witcher 4 short stories came with the apparent revelation of the School of the Lynx, which doesn’t exist in the original Sapkowski books. We’re still a long way from the new Witcher trilogy, and we’re also a long way from some of the franchise’s upcoming spin-offs, as the mysterious Project Sirius was recently rebooted internally, suggesting it won’t be. get out soon. Probably a case of too few low poly pigeons.
