Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 began its final weekend of free multiplayer access today, March 16. The weekend will give all players on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One access to a small selection of maps and game modes, as well as a single raid episode.
What maps and modes are included in Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Free Access?
The latest multiplayer free access weekend will give players the chance to try out eight game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Invasion. These matches will take place across six maps, including the new Himmelmatt Expo map added with yesterday’s Season 2 Reloaded update and the ever-popular Shipment. There will also be Atomgrad Raid Episode 1 on standard difficulty. This can be played without the Raid Mission which is usually earned by completing Daily Challenges, placing well in Warzone 2.0, or exiting the DMZ after collecting a good amount of money.
Free Weekend Multiplayer is available now on PS4 and PS5 now that “Lobby Not Found” bugs have been fixed and will be available until 10am PT on March 20. Note that the weekend won’t allow players to access Modern Warfare 2’s campaign or Spec Ops modes, but those interested can download the game from the PlayStation Store. Any progress made over the weekend will carry over to the full game if players decide to purchase it afterwards.
