Acclaimed by the press and gamers, Nintendo’s latest game is a hit, but a gray area taints this success.
Metroid Prime Remastered It was one of the surprises of the last Nintendo Direct. With an announcement as quick as it was effective, just after the Japanese company’s conference, players could already buy it.
Samus was able to blush for a few moments in many games, including Hogwarts Legacy. It became a bestseller on Amazon for a short time and became the best-selling game on the Nintendo eShop. In other words, the physical version of the game is not yet available, so Nintendo is successful in many ways. Except that there is a setback, a lack of respect that obscures this success.
Missing Developers
The success of this title is not entirely due to the current developers who put all their sweat into this remaster. Although this adventure has been updated, most of the credit goes to the original developers who made the game. So seeing the absence of names in the credits, David ‘Zoid’ KirschFormer developer of Metroid Prime launched in 2002, he has continued to make his voice heard on social networks.
“While many studios have done an amazing job on the remaster, I’m disappointed that the Metroid Prime remaster doesn’t include the full credits of the original game. I’ve worked with so many amazing people on the game and the name of each should be included in the remaster.”
Following this message, other developers came to add their opinions. We learned that many parts of the game code remained unchanged, especially the concepts or game design. With the absence of their names in the game credits, jack mateothe former technical director of the game, classify this title as a shameful parody.
“It’s a travesty. Not just for my mention (although most of my code has probably been superseded), but for people whose code and work has remained largely unchanged, like Mark HH, Steve McCrea, all concepts and art have improved game design. Shameful.”
Under these conditions, the release of Metroid Prime Remastered cannot be a great success, especially when the work of many people is mocked. Perhaps Nintendo will respond to these messages, including, after the fact, the name of each of the developers. However, nothing can guarantee it. At the time of this writing, Nintendo does not appear to have provided an answer. and perhaps you wish to remain in this position of silence.
