The device requires specific conditions to work, leading some players to believe it’s buggy. In this guide, you will learn how to use Echo Locator on NMS and fix location interference.
How to Use the Echo Locator in No Man’s Sky
Echo Locator is a random drop from Corrupted Sentinels. Go through corrupted planets until you get one.
You do not need to be on the surface of the planet to use the device. Simply enter the planet’s atmosphere in your ship and click “Resonate” to start looking at Sentinel technology.
Location Interference: Causes and Solution
Many players trying to use the echo locator encounter a message stating “Could not use map location interference”. To solve this problem, it is important to understand what the device actually does. Echo Locator is meant to take you to the nearest abandoned camp, where can you get one Interceptor Sentinel Ship. If that doesn’t work, there may be none on the planet you’re currently on. The device is designed for use in a corrupt world.
Also, it seems that the echo locator can this will only work if you use it on a newly discovered rogue planet. The reason is probably very simple: the abandoned camps did not appear on the explored worlds, it must be a new one. To find new corrupted planets, look for stars with “Dissonant” in the star class summary.
