One of the most recognizable and famous dinosaurs in Ark: Survival Evolved is the Brontosaurus. Nicknamed Bronto for brevity, they are very hard to miss. Big, loud, and a great way to get banged up on the map, the Bronto is a staple in the game. The Bronto isn’t the hardest to tame, but it does have a few things to keep in mind. That is why in this guide we will see how to tame a Bronto in Ark: Survival Evolved.
What does the Bronto do in Ark: Survival Evolved and where to find it
Brontos aren’t particularly aggressive or built for combat, but they can still deal a lot of damage to humans or dinosaurs. Its main attack is a tail slam, which can deal with creatures, animals, and even low-level structures with one hit. Simply stepping on objects can also damage them, usually on purpose when angry, but sometimes by accident. Tail Slam has a long range, deals more damage than its trample attack, and will simultaneously, most of the time, knock you down a cliff to your death. The Bronto also has a lot of health.
You can find Brontos on all maps except Scorched Earth and Aberration. The Bronto, when equipped with high armor, platform or normal saddle, is a turret marvel. You can also collect enough berries that many servers crashed with a single tail swipe in a berry covered area.

How to Tame a Bronto in Ark: Survival Evolved
If you’re taming the Bronto, the best strategy to employ is a hit-and-run strategy with an emphasis on running. You can also take on the heights, as the Bronto is huge, and shoot them from there; however, this is not always possible. Keep your distance if you are on foot facing this creature. You can outrun them if you have a few levels of movement speed and easily take them out by shooting with each step before running again. Keep an eye out for other hazards in the area, or you might inadvertently encounter them while focusing on the Bronto.
