Merlin’s Trials are scattered throughout the Hogwarts Legacy, hoping to find and solve his riddles. There are two near Falbarton Castle, northeast of Hogsmeade. You can find them relatively early in your game, and you might find them by helping Natty break into Falbarton Castle. Finding these Trials of Merlin is one thing, but solving them is another. How to Complete All Merlin’s Trials at Falbarton Castle in Hogwarts Legacy
There are two Trials of Merlin that you need to complete at Falbarton Castle. Both are west of the castle, one closer than the other. This is considered Merlin’s first trial.

How to Solve Judgment of Merlin with Glowing Butterflies
Merlin’s First Trial is west of Falbarton Castle. You can get to this place by broom or by walking yourself.

When you activate the pedestal, butterflies will appear in front of you and they will glow. What you need to do to solve this puzzle is similar to the moths you found in Hogwarts Legacy. You must use the Lumos spell and drag them to one of the three bases in this area.

You can immediately find one of these blocks behind the Merlin Trial starting location.

There will be another northwest of the Merlin Trial starting location, on top of a small cliff. Here are shiny butterflies that you can use to place them on the block.

The last batch of butterflies are a little harder to find. They will spawn in the cave southeast of the Merlin Trial starting location. Jump into the cave and take out the butterflies.

Once you have those butterflies, head west and you’ll find the last block next to a stone wall. This will be the last block and you will have completed Merlin’s first trial.

How to solve Judgment of Merlin with the rolling ball
The second will not be too far from your current position. You can head west and find it on your map. When you get there, activate it and a ball will appear on top of the hill.

Head for the ball and solve this Merlin Trial by using Depulso on the ball, knocking it back.

This will roll him down the hill and when he reaches the bottom, use Accio to hold him in place and make sure he rests in the center.
