Final Fantasy XIV lets you customize a lot of things when it comes to glamour. The sky is the limit with the different outfits available to wear. One way to get Soot Black Dye in Final Fantasy XIV is to increase your reputation with the Ixali Beast Tribe. After completing the main stage quest in search of the pastyou can talk to Scarlet in New Gridania (X9.9, Y11.4) to get the bad bladder quest, which will unlock the Ixali beast tribe in The North Shroud.
Getting enough reputation is easy if you come back every day to write their camp’s tribal journals. You will need to have unlocked a Main or Earth Discipline job to be able to participate in the quests.

Upon achieving the Respected reputation rank, you will be able to purchase Black Soot Dye from Vendor Ixali at X:25, Y:23 for 216 gil per dye. The fastest method to reach Camp Ixali is to teleport to the Fallgourd Float in The North Shroud and head northeast from there.

Where to find Soot Black Dye in Final Fantasy XIV
Black Soot Dye is also a rare drop from treasure chests in Heavensward’s The Fractal Continuum dungeon. You can also get some by completing the following quests:

- monarch marks
- a life of regret
Players can choose to create their own Black Soot Dye as long as they have Hand Discipline at level 30 or higher. The ship requires a gray pigment found via the level 28 botanical nodes in South Shroud or Western La Noscea.
