Diablo IV allows players to make in-game purchases using gold. This can be obtained through different methods such as defeating enemies, opening chests, etc. However, despite being the main currency in the game, we also have whispering obols which can help you acquire many items. In this guide, we are going to tell you how to get and use Murmuring Obols in Diablo IV.

If you’ve just started playing Diablo IV, you may not be familiar with curio vendors. These can be found all over the map and their location is indicated by a bag sign. However, this vendor does not want any gold from you. Instead, he wants your precious mumbling mites.

At the moment, the only way to earn whispering obols in Diablo IV is to participate in public events. These events always take place in different locations and appear as a red circle on the map. The event will be different each time. For example, one might ask you to take down waves of enemies, while the other might ask you to defeat a specific boss. Anyway, you have to participate in all the events that appear on the map, if you want to get as many mumble mites as possible. At the end of each event, a chest appears on the ground containing many items, including gold and mumble obols.

Once you’ve acquired enough, head to the curiosities vendor. The provider will present you with different options on the screen, including:
- Weapons for your class.
- For you.
- Gloves.
- Boots.
- Pants.
- Cap.
- Whispered keys.
Now you won’t be able to choose a specific item. Instead, you’ll pass mumble mites in a category and the seller will select the item for you. For example, if you spend 25 Muttering Pence on gloves, you might get a rare item. However, in some cases, you may receive a regular glove. So you will always be betting on the Curiosities Vendor as you never know what you will get in return, except for Whispering Keys which can be used to unlock Silent Chests.
