Where to find the machete in Sons of the Forest
To get the machete, you need to head to the north side of the map. It will take you some time to reach its location as it is quite far from where you first appeared in the game. On your way you will also come across several cannibal encampments. Do not attempt to navigate them if you are not well equipped. But if you’re ready to take on the cannibals, be sure to take them out so you can loot the camps as well.
Once you reach the shore, you need to search for red lifeboats near an abandoned camp. You can pick up the machete from one of these abandoned ships. Before you leave, be sure to pick up all the items around you. If you approach the stores, you will see a corpse. You can take the shotgun rail, which is an accessory of the shotgun. Additionally, you will also find ammo for the shotgun in one of the nearby boxes.

Although the Machete is a decent melee weapon, we won’t recommend it for later parts of the game. You can rely on it for your first days in the forest, but you should upgrade to a better weapon, like the Katana, as soon as as you can.
