One of the most formidable opponents you will face in Valheim are the Seeker Soldiers, elite beetle-like monsters capable of crushing unsuspecting adventurers with their massive jaws or impaling them with their razor-sharp claws. . Additionally, these giant insects are armored with an incredibly thick carapace, making them moderately resistant to physical damage such as bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing attacks. As tough as they are, Seeker Soldiers are not invincible. Those who manage to defeat these beastly beetles will be rewarded with valuable insect parts and Seeker Soldier Trophies, a resource for re-summoning the Queen, ruler of the Mistlands.

As noted above, downing a Valheim Seeker Soldier in melee is exceptionally difficult due to their resistance to physical attacks. On the other hand, its tail or rear abdomen does not share the same armor strength as the rest of its body. However, it would be difficult for a Seeker Soldier to give you leeway to support him unless you were already sneaking around in the first place. Of course, it is possible to parry, but countering an enraged giant beetle is not easy and requires immense practice. Therefore, we recommend using elemental or magic attacks to defeat the Seeker Soldiers in Valheim.
In our experience, the best way to easily defeat Seeker Soldiers in Valheim is to use magic weapons like the Ember Staff or ranged elemental attacks with a bow using Fire, Frost, or Poison Arrows. Wielding an Ember Staff or Frost Staff can be cheaper as the Eitr can be replenished. In our case, we found a vantage point in an infested mine where the flightless seeker soldier couldn’t reach us, after which we proceeded to effortlessly kill them with magic attacks in Valheim. Although this strategy may seem brash, it is effective for those who are less good at parrying.

It’s worth mentioning that Frostner and Mistwalker are powerful weapons against Valheim’s seeker soldiers, but they still require being close to monsters. We tried using Dead Raiser to have our Skelet fight a Seeker Soldier on our behalf; however, the beetle made quick work of the skeleton. As a result, the Ember Staff and Frost Staff are the best weapons for hunting Searching Soldiers. The Frost Staff is ideal if the enemy is in your line of sight. Conversely, the bursts of fire from the projectiles of the Ember Staff offer excellent area damage if your position does not allow you to directly hit your opponent.
