If you’ve played Minecraft since its 1.0 release in 2011, you’ve probably come across a cursed item. These curses are usually negative, but you can playfully use them when crafting an adventure map or multiplayer activity. Take, for example, the Vanishing Curse, which will remove the item from the game if the player holding it dies. Knowing how to do this will allow you to use it in interesting ways, so let’s look at what exactly you need to add the banishment curse to something in Minecraft.

For armor, weapons and tools, it doesn’t matter which variant it is, you can use wood, diamond, nethernite or anything else. Simply bring any item from the list above to an enchantment table or anvil and use the enchantment. The enchantment itself can be obtained from End City, the Jungle Temple, loot from Stronghold chests, fishing, raids, or trading with a Librarian at any level.
Remember that if you die while you have the cursed item in your inventory, it will disappear forever. You can prevent this with the Keep Inventory command or just drop the item to the ground if you are afraid of dying. Either way, be careful with this one and only use it if you have a good reason to.
