As players progress through the Destiny 2: Lightfall campaign, they will eventually come to a quest called Headlong. Completing this quest brings Guardians a lot closer to understanding and managing the Strand, but it also comes with some mind-boggling puzzles. They’re actually much easier to complete once you understand how they work – that’s how you solve all of Headlong’s Vex Entry Lockdown puzzles.

Look above where the energy shield is that is blocking your progress and you will see several diamonds that are either on or off. Puzzle 1 answer

In the first Headlong puzzle, which introduced the mechanic, players will need to kill a Light Harpy, a Dark Harpy, and then a Lighted Harpy. Be sure to kill the Harpies slowly, with the appropriate diamond disappearing after each kill before moving on. Killing too quickly can cause diamonds to not drop properly, causing Guardians to wait for Harpies to reset.
