There are many structures and tools to build in Sons of the Forest that will help you survive on the island. Once you’ve built a house, you’ll need to build additional structures to call it a base. One of the items you will want is a clothesline. This handy tool allows you to dry leather and meat you’ve obtained from animals for use in crafting. This guide will show you how to build a clothesline in Sons of the Forest.

How to Make a Clothesline at Sons of the Forest

Crafting in Sons of the Forest can be a bit tricky. Thanks to the two different construction styles, even building a staircase can be a challenge. To build a drying rack, you will need to start by opening your guidebook. This is done by pressing the B key. With the fence in place, be sure to hold it with your left hand. If not, hold X to change the build mode to be.

Plans for drying racks can be found in the storage section of the guide. Once you find the blueprints, select it with your mouse and you will see a metal structure of the dryer appear in front of you. Choose where you want to place the shelf and press the left mouse button to place it. Once the frame is in place, you will need to gather the sticks needed to build it.

Sticks can be found throughout the forest, but they can be reliably obtained by destroying small trees. You will need a total of nine sticks to dry the pantyhose. Once you have the sticks, head to the metal structure of the dryer and press the E key to place the sticks. You will need to press the button once for each stick placed. With all the sticks in place, you’ll have a drying rack to go along with the rest of your camp. You can now build more complicated structures like a bridge.
