the character of DuneCaracarried out so far by Gina Carano, appeared quite frequently in the first two seasons of The Mandalorian. However, after some politically insensitive remarks from the actress in which she appeared to liken criticism of American conservatives to the persecution of Jews during the Holocaust, Carano was dropped from the show.
This created a problem for the writers of the new Star Wars universe series that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are building, as Filoni himself and Rick Famuyiwa told Deadline. It seems that while the idea of addressing Dune’s departure was one that was considered in the writers room, the series ultimately decided to move forward without pointing out the missing character.
“The third season is mostly about The Mandalorians and The Mandalorian Saga, The Mandalorian story,” Dave Filoni pointed out. “(There are) different characters that (Din Djarin has) known since Bo-Katan (who) takes a lot more of the limelight, which makes sense where his arc, his story and Grogu’s story goes, especially.”
The third season of The Mandalorian starts airing from tomorrow March 1 on Disney+. Are you going to see her?
