On the occasion of GDC 2023, Ninja Theory unveiled an incredibly realistic new video for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.
This may be the first game announced for the new generation of Microsoft consoles. However, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 remains a real mystery.. Indeed, apart from a first trailer and a gameplay video presented at the Game Awards, not much has been said about the Ninja Theory title in recent years. But on the occasion of the GDC 2023, the latter had the right to an extremely impressive new presentation.
A spectacular new trailer for Hellblade 2
It was more precisely during the State of Unreal conference that the sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was again mentioned. Melina Juergens, who plays the main heroine of the game, is on stage to perform. a brief overview of what’s new in Metahuman, which then led to a new trailer for Hellblade 2. He then reveals absolutely spectacular rendering of facial animations enabled thanks to Unreal Engine 5.
“We’re pushing the boundaries of real-time facial animation in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, as seen #GDC23 with @UnrealEngine” he then indicates the study on his Twitter account. Unfortunately, that’s all we’ll see for now since the video only focuses on the details of the character’s face. It will therefore be necessary wait a little longer before discovering the representation of the landscapes presented in the recent making-of Game.
The story gets teased gradually
That being said, this trailer still allows us to have a very light teaser of the game’s story through the words of Senuawhich are: “Now I see through your darkness. I see through your lies. I’ll show you how to see like me. I will not appease your gods. I will destroy them”. It’s true that it’s not much, but associated with the previous videos presented by Ninja Theory, we can at least deduce that this new adventure will not be easy.
As a reminder, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will launch exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The release date is not yet known.
