How to download mods from the GTA RP server
Installing a mod is essential, but different GTA RP servers will require you to download different ones. The most popular of what we have seen is FiveM. To download it, go to their website and follow the steps they have laid out:
- Disable any antivirus before downloading FiveM. Some antivirus vendors like Avast, AVG and others are known to block FiveM procedures, so make sure your antivirus is completely disabled.
- Once FiveM is installed, add FiveM to your antivirus/exclusions whitelist
- Make sure you have installed and updated GTA V
- Download FiveM from the website
- Run FiveM.exe. If you run the installer in an empty folder, FiveM will be installed there. Otherwise, it will be installed on %localappdata%FiveM
- Start FiveM from the Windows Start menu
It’s also worth noting that while they’re asking you to disable your antivirus, they’re working on a solution. Another option if you don’t want to continue with this download is the RageMP client, which is used by the popular Eclipse Roleplay server.
How to Join a GTA RP Server
Joining and maintaining your status on a GTA RP server takes work. Most servers will ask you to complete a request and read a set of rules; if you want an example, the TwitchRP ruleset is just a click away. Once your request is accepted, you will join a queue where you can progress in priority according to your compliance with the rules.
You’ll have to go through a few steps, but it seems like a necessary step to prevent every server from crashing or letting anyone spoil the fun.
The best GTA RP servers to start with
Each server operates at a similar cadence and aims to provide the most flexible experience possible by allowing you to play as anything from a taxi driver to a newscaster. For this reason, many of these servers may be quite similar, but may differ in scale and accessibility. So we’ve looked at a few to get you started.

It’s one of the most popular servers you can join, but it’s also the hardest. NoPixel only supports 32 players at a time and is frequented by Lirik, Moonmoon, and Summit1G. It is therefore not surprising that he had to suspend applications since more than 4,000 people applied.
That said, the apps won’t sit idle forever, and you might still have the chance to roleplay some of the biggest streamers on Twitch, especially if you can roleplay really well.
Eclipse PR
Another of the heavy hitters in GTA RP, this server hosts 200 players at a time. One of its most impressive features is the accuracy of its forum section, which clearly showcases many criminal factions to join, ranging from the Irish Mafia of Los Santos to clowns. There are also specific job openings such as Los Santos Customs and Los Santos Medical Services.
Be warned though, Eclipse RP seems to be another top GTA RP server, your time on the waitlist may turn out to be long.

This server stands out because it’s completely text-based, which means those of us who aren’t ready to chat with strangers have a place to go to get GTA RP running. Like the others, there is a registration process for GTA World and according to the website there are currently 500 members.
Even if you’re not an accepted member, you can still play the forums and see what kind of factions are in play.
mafia town
This RPG server has been in development for two years and is now available for registration. It comes with a “dynamic” legal and illegal party system, customizable player corporations and businesses, and all properties are also for sale. Apartments, houses, hotels and condos, you name it. Mafia City also gives you the option to play as a money-hungry cop, gangster or CEO.
