Sons of the Forest debuted on Steam in Early Access. It turns out that players liked not only the gameplay and graphics, but also the companion named Kelvin.
Sons of the Forest debuted on Steam in Early Access, and unsurprisingly, the game is getting a lot of attention. Suffice it to say that at the time of writing, the game is played by more than 200,000 users at the same time. The title is praised, among other things, for its pleasant gameplay or its good visual aspect, but many players have been captivated by another aspect, and his name is Kelvin..
Kelvin, Kelvin, what will become of you!
Kelvin after cutting down the tree the cabin was built on. He just wanted to have more wood.
Kelvin is a castaway that can be found early in the game. Due to the accident, this character is deaf and can only communicate using a control pad.. Fortunately, the boy has a vest with his name on it, so at least we know who will help us survive in this dangerous place.
To say the least, Sons of the Forest isn’t free of bugs, which sometimes results in funny situations featuring Kelvin. In the graphic above you can see our help standing between the logs after cutting down the tree on which the foundation was built. The NPC took it upon himself to collect the wood and apparently came to the conclusion that cutting down that particular tree would be a good idea. It kinda reminds me of the scene in The Witcher 3, when a troll was supposed to be protecting the ships and decided to cut them into pieces and build a fence out of them so they could defend themselves.
There is no shortage of threads related to Kelvin on Reddit, and although many of them describe bugs and various strange situations, it is clear from the comments that many players have come to love this character precisely because of his behavior. .
“Guys, I don’t think this is a mistake. It’s just Kelvin,” babybearhead wrote.
The behavior of our titular golden boy is obviously due to the fact that the game is in early access and the developers still have a lot to improve. However, some players prefer to explain Kelvin’s entry into the bonfire as a desire to warm up, rather than a bug. If you’re playing Sons of the Forest and you’re tired of this NPC’s slowness, order him to rest. Then Kelvin is likely to stand still or, as he is wont to do at times, begin to levitate.
Kelvin – instructions for use
We issue commands using a notepad.
- As I mentioned earlier, we can send commands to Kelvin using notepad. To use this option, approach the character and press the E key.
- Among other things, we can tell Kelvin to follow us, collect materials and food, pick up an object or take a break.
- Sometimes the character stops following orders and begins to rest. So let the boy take a break.
- The NPC is also useful for detecting dangers. When he sees it, he will point his finger in the direction you are. Remember that the character is deaf, so he has no way to issue voice alerts.
- If the partner annoys us and we are tired of him, we can get rid of him. However, it should be noted that in this case it will completely disappear.. Who will then make our days more pleasant with levitation shows?
