Puzzle God of War Ragnarok It came with a feature that annoyed quite a few players: companions messed up the solution seconds after solving one. Ultimately, it’s not something the testers picked up on, which led to the issue in the final game.
God of War Ragnarok Puzzles Being Messed Up Was An Oversight, Says Developer
In an interview with MinnMax (via IGN), Santa Monica Studio’s Matt Sophos and Richard Gaubert revealed that Allies missing puzzles was an oversight they wished game testers had noticed. Had this been pointed out to them during development, the developers say they would have fixed it.
“It wasn’t really revealed to us until after the game was released, because even in playtesting we never saw comments about characters talking too much or messing things up too quickly,” Sophos explained. “The timing of the first track was too aggressive and there should have been a much longer countdown before something happened.
Santa Monica Studio listened to player feedback and acted on it. Sophos and Gaubert didn’t say if they would implement a patch to fix the issue, but promised it’s something that won’t happen in the next game.
