The demo of the latest game from the developers of the NiOh series performs poorly on PC. Many players have complained about issues with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
A few days ago, a demo version of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty was made available. This action-RPG from the creators of the NiOh series has sparked the interest of gamers, as on the day of the demo release, over 57,000 people played the game on Steam at the same time. However, in the following days, the number of players decreased and ranged from a few to 30,000 players. This may be related to performance issues in Wo Long: Fallen Dynastywhich many PC gamers complain about.
Poor performance even on powerful hardware
demo version of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty on PCs you face poor performance and the power of the hardware does not matter in this case. Many gamers with powerful GPUs, such as Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 processors and Intel Core i9, struggle to maintain consistent framerates.
“Completely poor on the 3080. The second chapter behaves very badly, it can display between 40 and 60 fps (…) with average framepacing. It’s definitely not something you’d expect from a game that requires you to parry, dodge, etc. necessary to survive,” user Zafir wrote on the ResetEra forums.
“I couldn’t get a stable 60fps with a 3070 GPU at 1080p in any mode (graphics – editor’s note). That sucks,” Knight wrote in Shining Armani on the ResetEra forum.
The solution might be to lower the graphics settings. Unfortunately, many gamers say this doesn’t provide a significant improvement, which is likely due to the way the game’s shaders are compiled. In this case, only developer intervention and patches could do anything.
A similar shortcoming was encountered, for example, with the Callisto protocol at launch. PC gamers too, as in the case of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, have complained about optimization issues. Either way, the fps loss is probably a big part of the reason for the aforementioned way of compiling shaders.
control issues
An affliction for many Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty PC players is also the issue with the controls. Some people complain that the demo does not detect any drivers. There are also issues with mouse sensitivity and the speed at which you pan the camera – the controls can be off.
“There is no joy in playing this game on PC – camera mouse control is untested (because no one would release such a demo if tested),” the user wrote TUSK on Steam.
It seems like playing the Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty demo on PC is a lottery. While many gamers suffer from the issues described above, there are also those who haven’t noticed any. This is only a demo though – by the time the full version of the game is released, the developers may have fixed some of the issues.
remember that demonstration of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty it can be tested until March 27 on PC, PS4, PS5, XSX/S and XOne. The game will launch (on all aforementioned platforms) on March 3.
