Furina in Genshin Impact: see guide with gameplay, build and comps
The Archon of Fontaine, Furina is a character who gives more value to healing characters in Genshin Impact, as well as benefiting the team with a large increase in Hydro damage.
Genshin Impact, HoYoverse’s action RPG, has welcomed a new five-star character to its roster, Furina. She is the long-awaited Archon of Fontaine, the fifth explorable region in the world of Teyvat. Proficient in the Hydro element, Furina is considered a support character due to her potential to increase team damage and healing. However, she is versatile and can also do a lot of damage with her abilities – which can be complicated to understand.
In short, Fontaine’s Archon is a character who benefits from the player’s team’s health fluctuation to provide damage and healing bonuses to the group. For this reason, one of her characteristics is that she drains HP from all her members and can be unfeasible without the presence of a dedicated healer. In the following lines, Globe Live Media explains the gameplay details, build and compositions to play with Furina in Genshin Impact, available for PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), PC, Android and iPhone (iOS). Check it out:
Story
Furina is an eccentric character who is considered a superstar by the people of Fontaine, thanks to her performances at the Epiclese Opera, at the Fontaine Court. She sometimes takes part in the trials and exercises her freedom to make comments that are born of curiosity, without making logical sense of the cases. When she’s not there, she takes the stage with her own musical performances.
One of her greatest talents is her ability to act, but it seems that she uses this to her advantage to mask a gigantic burden while searching for solutions. After all, there is an alarming prophecy that Fontaine will be flooded by the waters of the Primordial Sea, which could dissolve all its citizens.
Gameplay
It’s safe to say that the release of Furina has come to privilege Genshin Impact’s cast of healers, especially those capable of healing the entire team at once. To understand the character, it’s important to bear in mind that she has two alignments, alternating with her Charged Attack: Ousia (dark clothing) and Pneuma (light clothing). These instances change her appearance and the function of the Elemental Skill: Salon Solitaire.
In Ousia’s alignment, the Elemental Skill summons Salon members with celebratory bubbles, which deal Hydro DMG based on Furina’s Max Health. It places three creatures on the field, which attack periodically and also deal Hydro Damage based on Maximum Health. When they attack, characters with more than 50% HP in the player’s party have their health drained to increase the power of their attacks by up to 140%.
In Pneuma alignment, Furina summons the Singer of Chains to regenerate the Health of the active character on the field based on their Max Health attribute. In other words, it’s a single-target cure designed primarily for moments of exploration. It’s worth noting that Salon Solitaire also allows Furina to walk on water, proving to be an excellent skill for the game’s open world.
In addition, the duration of Salon Members and Singer of Chains is shared and the skill lasts a maximum of 30 seconds. As its cooldown is 20 seconds, it is possible to keep the summons in battle forever. This means that Furina is a character who doesn’t appear on the field to perform Normal Attacks, but rather to activate her Talents.
Furina’s Ultimate Ability is called “And the People Go Wild”. Upon activation, the character applies Hydro Damage in an area based on her Maximum Health and causes all characters to enter a state of Universal Euphoria for 15 seconds.
Whenever someone’s life fluctuates, Furina gains one Fanfare point for every 1% increase or decrease in Maximum Life. These points are converted into increased Damage and Healing Bonuses for all team members, with a maximum accumulation of 300. The conversion depends on the level of the Talent.
Furina’s Passive Talents are also very important to her gameplay style. The first is called Infinite Waltz, and allows her to regenerate the health of the team’s characters every two seconds based on their maximum health. This effect only comes into effect if the active character in the party is healed more than necessary by a healer other than Furina. In other words, this is a Talent that helps you gain more Fanfare points.
The second, Unheard Confession, brings benefits to Salon Solitaire line-ups. For every thousand points of Furina’s Maximum Life, the damage of Salon Members will be increased by 0.7%. In this way, it is possible to increase the damage dealt by up to 28%. In the case of the Singer of Chains, the interval between healings will be reduced by 0.4%, resulting in a maximum reduction of 16%.
Build and composition
Furina’s true value lies in the use of her Elemental Skill. For this reason, the most recommended set of artifacts for the character is the Golden Troupe, which increases the damage of the Elemental Skill by 20% with two pieces. In the case of the complete set with four pieces, the damage increases by another 25% and again by 25% if she is out of battle – reaching 70% in total.
As far as the main attributes of the artifacts are concerned, it’s worth looking for Energy Recharge on the hourglass, Health Percentage on the chalice and Damage or Critical Hit Rate on the tiara, depending on the need. It’s important that Furina has enough Energy Recharge to apply her Ultimate Ability whenever necessary in the team rotation, so it’s worth aiming for something around 170%. For secondary attributes, the order of importance tends to be as follows: Energy Recharge, Critical Hit Rate or Damage and Health.
Now to the weapons. Furina has been released with her signature five-star sword: Splendor of Silent Waters, which scales in Critical Damage and is available for a limited time in the Genshin Impact gacha system. She is a character who lacks Energy Recharge, so the best cheap options are the Putrid Sword (event limited), the Fleuve Cendre Cross (fishing reward) and the Sword of Favonius.
It’s also worth noting that Furina won’t use her Basic Attack to deal damage. So there’s no reason to upgrade the Talent straight away. In order of importance, it’s worth maximizing Salon Solitaire, which is her main source of damage, and Ultimate Skill.
Finally, it’s interesting to think about team compositions that benefit from the Life attribute in some way. In particular, characters like Hu Tao and Yelan work very well with Furina – and a composition with them even enables Hydro Resonance, which increases Maximum Health by 25%. With Jean to round out the group, the player would not only guarantee the team’s survival with her healing power, but also the activation of Infinite Waltz and the reduction of enemies’ Elemental Resistance with the Green Shadow set. Here are some possibilities:
- Hu Tao, Yelan, Furina and Jean;
- Neuvillette, Furina, Zhongli and Jean;
- Raiden Shogun, Furina, Kokomi and Kazuha;
- Neuvillette, Furina, Kazuha and Baizhu;
- Yanfei, Furina, Xingqiu and Yaoyao;
- Childe, Furina, Fischl and Charlotte;
- Alhaitham, Furina, Yelan and Jean.
How to get Furina in Genshin Impact
You can secure Furina for a limited time on her exclusive banner in the gacha system, which is available from November 8 to 28, 2023. As there is a rotation, it is necessary to wait for the character to return if the player doesn’t get it in time. Prayers made during this period also have an increased chance of securing the four-star characters Charlotte, Collei and Beidou. You need to spend a unit of Intertwined Fate for each attempt.
The game features a system called “pity”, which increases the chances of a five-star reward after at least 75 attempts. If the character doesn’t make it to prayer number 89, the 90th is guaranteed to be a five-star reward. You can make a note of this from the prayer history in the game itself. Even so, the player has a 50% chance of not getting Furina, but a random character from the Backpacker banner. If this happens, the next five-star reward will definitely be the one from the desired banner.
