Aavegotchi is gearing up to release The Forge, a system that allows players to break wearables down into components and then use those components to create new wearables.

The Aavegothchi crafting system is scheduled to go live on February 22, 2023. Known as Forge, this crafting system has two components, smelting and forging.

Foundry allows players to break down existing Aavegotchi Wearables into their basic components of schematics, cores, alloy. The Forge allows players to use these components to create new Wearables.

Wearables are made up of three or four components: schematics, cores, alloys, and sometimes gasoline. Blueprints work like the Blueprint, defining which specific item is crafted. Cores have an associated rarity and slot (i.e. face, body, etc.), while alloys are the base building material. Players need Essence to craft divine items. However, the main thing is solo Obtained by sacrificing Gotchis!

Crafting takes real time (depending on item rarity) and each Gotchi can only have one item being built at a time. The Gotchis gain the blacksmith ability when they use The Forge. Higher level skills result in faster crafting times.

casting at the forge

The cast is pretty basic. Drop off your item in the Foundry and receive the associated blueprint, core, and 90% of the alloy used to craft it. To help players get started creating, the Aavegotchi team plans to sell cores and blueprints on their auction house. These auctions begin when the Forge is activated.

Also, there is a rumor that some items may contain special minerals when melted…

Gotchis rented and Gotchis offered for sale cannot use The Forge. You can read more details about The Forge in Aavegotchi on their official blog.

What is Aavegotchi?

Aavegotchi is a collection of NFTs on Polygon that function as a mascot, playable character, and gameified DeFi system. Aavegotchi are 8-bit style pixelated ghosts. Players can craft new ones during special “Haunt” events or by purchasing one from the secondary market. So far, there have only been two Haunt events, spawning 15,000 ghosts.

Gotchis have three main attributes: rarity, kinship, and experience. Players can increase Kinship by stroking their Gotchi (up to twice per day) or by consuming Kinship potions. Gotchis that are not petted lose one relationship point per day. Experience gains come from community events, participating in government votes, mini-games, and consuming experience potions.

But the most important thing is rarity. Each Aavegotchi starts with a rarity score based on its starting attributes. But that’s where wearables come in. By equipping wearables, Gotchis can increase their rarity score. Items compatible with Gotchi’s traits provide greater bonuses. Gotchis also receive a spirit point for every three levels of experience. Players use Spirit Points to enhance one of Gotchi’s traits.

For each of these three attributes, players compete in a leaderboard for a seasonal event called “Rarity Farming”. Every two weeks, players receive GHST rewards based on their Gotchi placements on these leaderboards. Each season lasts eight weeks.

There is an ever-growing ecosystem around Aavegotchi, with an MMO-style world in development.
