Final Fantasy XIV and its expansion Endwalker will debut very soon in PlayStation 5. Starting with the next update patch on April 13, 2021, users will be able to bring their characters and progress on PS4 to the next-gen natively in an open test.
In this, you can see improvements in loading times, in the frame rate, 4K resolution rate, audio 3D and haptic feedback on joysticks Dualsense.
PS4 users will be able to bring their progress to PS5, and it will be available at different times on different servers. Of course, what you progress in the beta will go to your main account, and the idea is that you do not have to download the game again, but rather that the beta is updated until it becomes the full version.
The announcement of availability will be made through Lodestone, where the official communication comes from.

If you’re new, you can also play a lot of the base content for free:
- Go to the PS Store on your PS5 and go to the Final Fantasy XIV page.
- Tap the button and choose “Final Fantasy 14 Free Trial” to download the client.
- When downloaded, it will launch the game. You will be able to play the base game and the Heavensward expansion for free.
