Those pesky Hogwarts Legacy demiguise statues can be hard to spot, especially if you’re walking around during the day, as they’re only accessible at night. After reaching The Guardian’s Lunar Lament main quest, you’ll be able to easily open these level 1 Hogwarts Legacy locks. However, Gladwyn Moon will ask you to find and remove even more of these glowing statues in and around the castle. If you find and bring Gladwyn nine more moons, he can teach you a stronger version of the Alohomora unlock spell. Here are nine of the easiest demiguise statues to find in Hogwarts Legacy, all accessible without Alohomora or using only the first level of the spell.

Easiest Hogwarts Legacy Half-Moons to Find at Hogwarts
After collecting those first three moons for Gladwyn, there’s no need to get on his Hogwarts Legacy broom in search of even more. These four half moons can easily be found in the castle at night, so just enter the map and select the option to change the time if not:
- Toilets out of service in the south wing: Upon entering Gryffindor Tower from the Defense Against the Dark Arts block, walk down the hallway past the unlocked bathroom to find a locked prefect bathroom with an out of order sign on the doorknob. Launch Alohomora to open it and go through the middle cabin to a secret room with a demiguise inside.
- muggle studies: From Bell Court, head to the History of Magic classroom, where you’ll also find one of the Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian key locations. Go down the stairs just in front of the classroom, past the sleeping dragon statue and open the locked door to the Muggle Studies room. The moon is on the desktop.
- Big room: Travel to the flame on the floor of the Great Hall and cross the hall to the lectern. Go right and you’ll find a locked door along the wall to the right. Use Alohomora to open the door, and inside you’ll find another moon demiguise.
- Divination Room: Fast travel to the scrying room at night to retrieve the moon from the teacher’s desk, no spells required.

Easiest Hogwarts Legacy Half-Moons to Find in Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade is full of half-naked moons if you know where to find them. Again, most of these moons don’t require you to use Alohomora to get them, although it will be useful for others. Most major Hogsmeade stores have hidden half-naked statues, but these moons are the easiest to find:
- Private room on the Three Broomsticks: Enter the Three Broomsticks pub and climb the stairs as high as possible. You’ll find a locked door to the private room, and after opening it you’ll be greeted by another demi-guise, as well as a field guide page if you’re using Revelio.
- Pigheaded: Go to Hog’s Head and find the demiguise on the counter.
- Books and scrolls: Go to Tomes and Scrolls and go behind the counter and the merchant in the side room on your left. The demiguise will be there.
- Wizard Wear Gladrags: Another half-guise can be found at the Gladrags counter, easily visible when entering from Hogsmeade Square.
- Waterwheel House: At North Hogsmeade you will see a water wheel across the river just behind Zonko’s. There you will find a painting of a moth, as well as another half-guise seated in the open air.

Now head back to the castle to find Gladwyn hiding in the faculty wing, a few steps from the Floo Llama move point. Give him the moons and after a short cutscene you can also choose Tier II locks.
The release of Hogwarts Legacy has been the subject of criticism and debate due to JK Rowling’s public stance on gender identity, which continues to challenge inclusion at the heart of the Harry Potter community. Here is our explanation on the Hogwarts legacy controversy.
