After six years of development and 600 people involved, the post-production of Super Mario Bros. : The Movie is over. Taking advantage of the Mar10 Day 8 Mario Day celebrations, March 10), Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri, introduced the film’s final trailer along with the cast of actors who give voice to the protagonists of the same (namely Chris Pratt, Jack Black, Anya Taylor-Joy, Seth Rogen, Charlie Day and Keegan-Michael Key).
For this latest trailer, Meledandri highlighted the quantum leap the studio took to bring Mario back to the movies, pushing the team’s artistic and technical skills to the limit to create the best Illumination ever seen. And you can check it below.
As you can see, this is a much more cautious final trailer. Something that is appreciated, because since the film is only 90 minutes long and with the amount of clips already published, we were afraid that it would spoil the plot too much.
Luckily that wasn’t the case, but it did leave us with some interesting tidbits, like the fact that the karts can be assembled to riders’ liking before taking part in the Rainbow Path, or that Donkey Kong can acquire fire powers flowers (And it inverts the colors, as it happens to Mario when doing so). Also, it seems that despite their fight in the purest Smash style, they will ultimately form a formidable team to fight against Bowser.
Less than a month before the premiere on April 5and now we just have to count the days and hours to go to the cinema to see one of the most anticipated events of the year.
