This year 2023 has started really badly for the co-creator of Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland, when the domestic violence accusations against him became public. This led to Adult Swim cutting ties with him, his resignation from High on Life studio Squanch Games and other life-altering changes, making today’s announcement all the more shocking.
Roiland is back Twitter announce that the charges against him were dropped and that you are ready to start working again and rebuild your reputation:
“I always knew these accusations were false – and I never doubted that day would come. Above all, I’m disappointed that so many people rushed to judge without knowing the facts, based solely on the word of an embittered ex who was trying to circumvent due process and get me ‘cancelled’ , it’s embarrassing. However, now that the court case is over, I’m determined to move on and focus on both my creative endeavors and restoring my reputation.”
Only time will tell if this will lead to his return to Rick & Morty, Squanch Games, and other projects.
Should Roiland pick up where he left off before the accusations, or head in a different direction?
