Players who have purchased or will purchase Baldur’s Gate III for PC in Early Access can expect a nice treat from Larian Studios. On PS5, however, you have to pay more for it.

When Larian Studios announced the February 23rd release date for Baldur’s Gate III, a lot happened. We learned that the PS5 version of the game will be released at the same time, we learned about the Collector’s Edition content and increased system requirements. As if noticing the deluge of information, the developer noted as an aside to post on Twitter that players who have purchased or will purchase Baldur’s Gate III in early access for PC can expect a nice treat.

If you missed this information, know that it will be a free upgrade to the recently announced version Digital Deluxe Edition. Includes the game and a number of digital extras such as a concept art album and a soundtrack. Its full content is shown in the following graphic.

While that’s certainly a good reason to seek out Baldur’s Gate III right now, there’s another one that might inspire you to do so. This is the price of the PC game, which currently stands at $59.99, $10 less than the PS5 version on the PS Store.

Although Larian Studios promised not to increase the price of the PC game after the release of version 1.0, that was a long time ago. Therefore, a kind of “inflationary compensation” is not excluded. So it’s worth rushing your purchase if you’re planning one anyway.

Hopefully, however, this dark scenario doesn’t materialize and all comers can buy Baldur’s Gate III on PC for the same price before and after launch. The latter is fixed at August 31, 2023. The title will also launch on PS5 on the same date.
