For some it will be a huge disappointment, and for others it will continue the tradition. Diablo 4, like previous versions in the series, will not support split-screen on PC; this mode will only appear on consoles.

As we well know, the latest installment in the series will give PC gamers a more mediocre experience.

Diablo series director Rod Fergusson in an interview for eurogamer explained the reason.

“It’s all about the technology. Trying to do screen-sharing co-op on PC is a lot harder when it comes to managing accounts and how you play together. The console comes pre-configured for that by as far as the ways you can link the whole thing trying to have two Battle.net accounts logged into the same PC at the same time… is a technology problem,” says Rod Fergusson.

Fergusson also explained the low priority given to the implementation of split-screen mode to other issues that arise during game development.

“When prioritizing what problems you need to solve, solving for two people sitting at a desk, playing on the same PC is a lower priority when most of the couch co-ops that are going to happen are going to be up against sixty. -Five-inch TV,” Fergusson added.

We had similar cases in the past, for example Diablo III offered a very nice cooperative mode on a single console for up to three people. Diablo 4 will debut on June 6 this year.
