The Diablo IV open beta is coming this weekend. When will it start, when will it end, how to access it, when will the preloading start, what character classes will it offer – you will find the answers in this article.
In just two days, the gates of hell will open again, this time for all comers. Indeed, on March 24, the highly anticipated open beta of Diablo 4 will be released.

Diablo 4 Open Beta – release times and platforms
When will the gates of hell reopen after successful early access?
- The launch will take place on Friday, March 24 at 5:00 p.m. CET.

Diablo 4 will be available for free testing on all target hardware platforms, namely PC, PS4, PS5, XONE and XSX/S.

Diablo 4 Open Beta: how to access it?
All you need to do to play the Diablo IV Open Beta is install the game from a product card available from PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store for console players, or log in to the Diablo IV open beta. ‘Battle.net application, then select the first item in the list. under “all games”, i.e. Diablo IV, which is marked with a red box with the word “Beta” for PC gamers.

Diablo 4 Open Beta: when will preloading begin?
Preloading starts today, i.e. March 22 at 5:00 p.m. CET.. You will be able to download the game files in advance on all platforms.

What can we test as part of the open beta? With the launch of the beta, we will access the beginning of the game, that is, the Prologue and Act 1.
- Diablo 4’s open beta battle arena will be Shattered Plains, filled with gothic darkness.
- During the beta we will visit many caves or ancient ruins, but we can also take a break in the city.
It should be noted that the Diablo 4 beta offers not only the main story, but also a number of smaller side quests, the completion of which will be required to reach a high level during the test.
One of the main attractions of the open beta will be the chance to meet the world boss, Ashava, who will only appear at specific times.
- March 25 (from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CET)
- March 26 (6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CET).
Diablo 4 Open Beta Cooperative Mode
It should be mentioned that with the start of the open beta, players will be able to to explore Shattered Plains in cooperative mode: local for two people (only on consoles) or online for four players.
Diablo 4: character classes and maximum level
In the Diablo 4 Open Beta, players will be able to choose one of the following five classes:
- Thug
- Witch
- Barbaric
- Necromancer
- Druid
This is a change from Early Access, where only three classes were made available to players, with no necromancers or druids.

The Open Beta, just like with Early Access, will introduce a character level cap. During the beta, our character will be able to reach level 25.
Additionally, an account can have a maximum of 10 characters at a time.
Diablo 4 Beta: Progress, Rewards, and Streaming
Blizzard has confirmed that the progress of the the beta version will not transfer to the full version of Diablo 4. The only progress withheld is for those who have already played through Early Access and want to try the game again.
However, it is important to note that there will be prizes for players who reach at least character level 20 during the weekend. We are talking about a special title and a unique cosmetic item. One of the additional titles can also be obtained by reaching a specific location.
It’s worth mentioning that test takers can freely stream their Diablo IV sessions. The developers themselves are also hosting a community broadcast, which will take place on March 24 at 19:00 CET.
