We’ll still have to wait for Diablo IV’s open beta, but today buyers of the game can try out the latest installment in Blizzard Entertainment’s hack’n’slash series.

Today at 5 p.m. CET, the early access beta test of Diablo 4 start to. It is reserved for those who have pre-ordered one of the three editions of the game: Standard, Deluxe or Ultimate. The collector’s edition does not include the game itself and therefore does not contain the key that gives access to the trials.

Diablo 4 Beta – preload and launch times

Starting Wednesday, March 15, players with beta keys can download it from Battle.net, as well as Sony and Microsoft stores to preload the trial version of the new Diablo. This will allow them to join in the fun right from the start of the early access beta.

Early access testing will run until March 20 at 9:00 CET. If you opted out of the pre-order, but want to try out Diablo 4 before it’s released, you’ll have to wait for the open beta next week.

Diablo 4 Beta – content

Either way, testers will be able to view the game’s prologue and first act in Shattered Peaks. However, Early Access will only include three character classes: Mage, Rogue, and Barbarian. We’ll have to wait for the Open Beta to test the Necromancer and Druid, though the level 20 character restriction will still apply.

Additionally, players will be able to take on the world’s first boss, as well as play with friends in co-op mode (even cross-platform).
